Defending the Republic, serving as local counsel with attorneys Daniel Watkins and Michael Hamilton of Watkins & Letofsky, LLP, has filed suit on behalf of three Texans who requested – and were wrongly denied – religious exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccine mandate of their employer, B. Braun Medical.

The lawsuit alleges that B. Braun Medical completely failed to address the sincerity these former employees’ religious beliefs in violation of Texas Law and improperly claimed it could not accommodate the religious accommodation requests because they presented an “undue hardship” to the business. B. Braun Medical, instead of easily accommodating these simple requests, forced its employees to choose between their jobs and their most sacred and deeply held religious beliefs. This was all done in violation of the Texas Labor Code, which prohibits religious discrimination and retaliation for living in accordance to one’s religious beliefs.

This is just the latest case in which Defending the Republic is fighting behalf of those who bravely asserted their rights against COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Defending the Republic currently represents a number of military service members and US Coast Guard members who fought unlawful vaccine mandates and who suffered discrimination for standing firm in their faith.
