Netflix Preparing for More Layoffs as Stock Languishes
QUOTE: Netflix is reportedly preparing for another bloodbath in the form of a new round of layoffs this week — the latest austerity measure as the far-left-wing streamer’s stock continues to languish at depressed levels.
Pink slips are expected to go out by Friday and could impact a similar number of people who were laid off last month when Netflix axed 150 employees and dozens of contractors and part-timers, according to a report from Variety.
That round of layoffs wiped out 2 percent of Netflix’s global workforce, which stands at about 11,000 staffers.
The once-invincible Netflix is now cutting spending in response to a disastrous subscriber forecast predicting that the streamer could lose a stunning 2 million customers in the months ahead. As a result, Netflix shares have plummeted in recent weeks, causing the company to lose close to 70 percent of its market capitalization so far this year.
2- Parents seem to have other entertainment options than Disney. Another massive failure by this company that just can not stop grooming our kids.

QUOTE: Meeting at their first in-person convention since 2018, Texas Republicans on Saturday acted on a raft of resolutions and proposed platform changes to move their party even further to the right. They approved measures declaring that President Joe Biden “was not legitimately elected” and rebuking Sen. John Cornyn for taking part in bipartisan gun talks. They also voted on a platform that declares homosexuality “an abnormal lifestyle choice” and calls for Texas schoolchildren “to learn about the humanity of the preborn child.”
The actions capped a convention that highlighted how adamantly opposed the party’s most active and vocal members are to compromising with Democrats or moderating on social positions, even as the state has grown more diverse and Republicans’ margins in statewide elections have shrunk slightly in recent years.
The denunciation of Cornyn represented a remarkable rebuke to a Republican who has served in the Senate since 2002. The hall at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston filled with boos on Friday as he tried to explain the legislation, which would allow juvenile records to be incorporated into background checks for gun buyers younger than 21 and encourage “red flag” laws that would make it easier to remove guns from potentially dangerous people, along with more funding for school safety and mental health.

QUOTE: A new ruling by FINA, the international body that governs women’s swimming, has put a brick wall up in Thomas’s career path.
World swimming’s governing body effectively banned transgender athletes from competing in women’s events on Sunday.
FINA members at the organization’s extraordinary general congress voted 71.5% in favor of its new “gender inclusion policy” that only permits swimmers who transitioned before age 12 to compete in women’s events.
5- A win for parents and religious schools from the Supreme Court.
Supreme Court strikes down Maine tuition aid policy that barred religious schools
QUOTE: The Supreme Court on Tuesday struck down a Maine education policy that made K-12 schools with religious instruction ineligible for taxpayer-backed tuition aid.
The 6-3 decision broke along ideological lines, with the court’s six conservatives ruling that the state’s so-called sectarian exclusion violated constitutional religious protections.
Maine law gives school-age children the right to free public education. But because many rural districts lack a public high school, a workaround was devised that allows these students to attend nearby qualifying private schools with public assistance.
Under Maine law, however, schools that offer religious instruction had been ineligible. This exclusion prompted a challenge by Maine parents, who argued that barring families’ preferred schools from the tuition aid program based on religion violates constitutional religious rights under the First Amendment.
6- At long last the tyranny of the Millennial work force is seeing some push back by more sensible adults.

QUOTE: A few days ago, employees of spaceflight company SpaceX released an open letter criticizing their CEO Elon Musk. Less than 48 hours later, at least five employees who orchestrated the letter were fired.
The dam is breaking. The “listen to meeeeee” millennials, who have had an overblown influence on corporations, and on our culture, are finally being told to sit down and be quiet. It is very much overdue.
Free speech in America means you can go into the public square and say what you want, safe in the knowledge that you won’t end up in prison.
Nor can you can tweet about how terrible your workplace is and expect your bosses simply to take it, as the Washington Post’s Felicia Sonmez recently found out. Sonmez was finally fired after a full week of nonstop tweeting about what a horrible place the Washington Post is to work at.
For some time now, corporations have been bending to people like Sonmez and the angry SpaceX employees. But in the past few months, it seems like Americans have finally had enough of these entitled babies.
This is not a bad thing. Learning how to behave in public is something millennials should have mastered in kindergarten. That they haven’t has been an ongoing problem for our society. Let’s hope they learn it now.

Hispanics Are Rising Up, And the Undeniable National Trend Toward the GOP Should Shake Democrats to the Core
QUOTE: Democrats firmly believe that opening up our southern border to immigrants from Central and South America will one day provide the party with a whole new block of loyal voters. The Democrats’ plan is that the government will meet their every need while taxpayers foot the bill. When these individuals are one day granted citizenship, they will vote for their benefactors, guaranteeing Democratic dominance for years to come.
But an undeniable shift is currently taking place among Hispanic-Americans, which the Democrats did not anticipate.
There are two potential reasons for this. First, more and more polls are finding that Hispanic-Americans’ political views are more closely aligned with conservatives than with liberals. They tend to oppose abortion and prioritize religion and family. They worry about inflation, crime and the education of their children.
A second reason for the Hispanic shift toward Republicans is that Democrats have thoroughly disgraced themselves over the past year and a half. One-party rule under the trio of President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is killing the country and causing Hispanics to abandon the party in droves.
A Quinnipiac University poll released on June 8, found that Biden’s job approval among Hispanics was just 24 percent. That was down from 26 percent in a Quinnipiac survey released in May.
