Dear Patriots,

Another week of ups and downs.

The Supreme Court giveth and taketh away with rulings on affirmative action and redistricting.

For today we will concentrate on Good News and good things as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our great nation. It is battered, gasping and under attack; but, it is still hanging on.   We remain sanguine that America can continue being the beacon of freedom in the world.

NOTE: No newsletter on Monday.  We will see you again on Wednesday.

Parents Exit Public Ed To Find Schools Aligning With Their Values

QUOTE: This month marks the 60th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Abington School District v. Schempp decision that ruled state-sponsored Bible reading was unconstitutional. In recent research, we show that when public schools lost the religious instruction some parents valued, parents took on the added cost of sending their children to private school.

At the time of Schempp, 11 states required the Bible to be read at school, 12 states made it optional, and 11 states outlawed mandatory Bible reading. The remaining states were silent on the question. In Abington School District, 10 Bible verses were read over the school’s announcement system each morning. In Schempp, the Supreme Court ruled this practice unconstitutional.

The truth is there is no such thing as a value-neutral education. For some, the values taught in public schools may be the right match for their family. For other parents, private schools and other educational options such as homeschooling provide a way for parents to inculcate their values in their children.

It is no wonder that five states this year have passed universal voucher laws that will allow more parents to have more choices on what school their children attend. Values will likely motivate their decisions. While parents’ choice to prioritize values may be discomfiting to some, recent school choice policy adoptions reflect the apprehension many parents feel about the current public school system.

2- The left will never get over this decision. But, we know it was good news and has saved thousands of babies from murder.

A year later, life and democracy are the big Dobbs winners

QUOTE: It’s not often that a Supreme Court decision can be directly traced to the saving of thousands of lives.

On this first anniversary of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, though, the overwhelming scientific consensus is that about 60,000 more babies are alive today because states were finally allowed again to pass laws protecting the unborn.

Those 60,000 lives alone are reason enough to celebrate Dobbs, but the decision has also proved to be a huge win for democracy in general and our Constitution in particular.

As Justice Brett Kavanaugh eloquently noted in his concurrence, “this Court will no longer decide the fundamental question of whether abortion must be allowed throughout the United States through 6 weeks, or 12 weeks, or 15 weeks, or 24 weeks, or some other line. The Court will no longer decide how to evaluate the interests of the pregnant woman and the interests in protecting fetal life throughout pregnancy. Instead, those difficult moral and policy questions will be decided, as the Constitution dictates, by the people and their elected representatives through the constitutional processes of democratic self-government.”

And that is exactly what has happened.

Fourteen states, including Alabama, Missouri, and Texas, ban abortion entirely. Georgia has a six-week ban, and Nebraska bans abortion after 12 weeks. Arizona and Florida ban abortion after 15 weeks, Utah after 18, and North Carolina after 20. Other more liberal states, such as California and Colorado, allow abortion up until birth.

Virtually every state, from far-left California to deep-red Texas, has had some sort of democratic action on abortion since the Dobbs ruling.

3- This is how we win the culture wars. It is not happening fast enough but it is happening. The left ignores this evidence so they can continue telling dwindling audiences that the boycotts are not working.

Anti-LGBTQ Backlash Puts a Chill on Corporate America’s Rhetoric

QUOTE: Anti-LGBTQ protests targeting brands like Target Corp. and Bud Light have cast a broader chill across corporate America. For the first time in years, company mentions of “Pride Month” and other LGBTQ terms were on the decline in regulatory filings and earnings calls, a Bloomberg News analysis found.

References to “Pride Month” in filings, presentations and transcripts from April to June at more than 900 of the largest US companies dropped almost 40% from this time last year, the first decline in five years. Other LGBTQ terms showed similar declines, the analysis found.

Now, with both anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and legislation growing, Corporate America is getting quieter on the issue, a sign that the commitment to so-called stakeholder capitalism may be fading. After trending up steadily for almost a decade, the four-quarter average of LGBTQ-related mentions fell in each of the past three quarters.

4-We know how much the left loves to point to Sweden. They will be ignoring these facts.

Sweden Shocks Europe: Abandons ‘Unstable’ Green Energy Agenda, Returns to Nuclear Power

QUOTE: Wait— it wasn’t supposed to be this way. That is, according to Al Gore, Leonardo DiCaprio, John Kerry, and Joe “Existential Threat to Mankind” Biden, et al. “It,” of course, being the utopian green energy of the Shangra-La of tomorrow — which Sweden is abandoning and returning to nuclear power.

Sweden just dealt a severe blow to the globalist climate agenda by scraping its green energy targets. In a statement announcing the new policy in the Swedish Parliament, Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson warned that the Scandinavian nation needs “a stable energy system.”

Svantesson said wind and solar power are too “unstable” to meet the nation’s energy requirements. Instead, she said, the Swedish government is shifting back to nuclear power and has scrapped its goal of a “100 percent renewable energy” supply to meet the nation’s energy requirement, as reported by Slay.

Gavin Newsom’s California was unavailable for comment.

The decision is a major blow to unreliable and inefficient technology, not to mention the bitter climate gnome, Greta Thunberg, who continually warns mankind about the next climate armageddon that never comes.

5- The harsh reality of forcing dependance on solar and wind energy is… the weather.

Huge Nebraska Solar Park Completely Smashed To Pieces By One Single Hail Storm!

QUOTE: The Scottsbluff, Nebraska 5.2 MW Community Solar project was part of the NPPD’s Sunwise program that consisted of an array has over 14,000 solar panels. It’s reported that it had been put into operation in 2019.

Surely the project had been ceremoniously put into operation, with dignitaries and proponents proclaiming it would reliably deliver cheap and clean energy, reduce the state’s carbon footprint and contribute to a bright and climate-friendly future.

Now it has been just recently reported that the multimillion dollar solar energy park was literally reduced to a heap of rubble as hail literally pummeled it to a pulp in just a matter of minutes days ago.

The disaster underscores once again just how vulnerable to the forces of nature solar energy parks are. The system’s 25-year expected lifetime was cut to down to less than 4 years, and makes you wonder if setting up such weather-vulnerable plants make any sense at all.

“This project will help the city achieve its goal to reduce our carbon footprint and stabilize city costs for the next 25 years,” said Nathan D. Johnson, City Manager, City of Scottsbluff.  “Through projects like this, we hope to offer an affordable ‘green’ option to our residents, both residential and commercial, to reap the benefits as well.”

That was the dream. A couple of days ago we witnessed the reality.

6- We celebrate every single time we see that there is still common sense in America.

Opposition Rises to Transgender Athletes, Even Among Democrats. Here’s Why

QUOTE: In May 2021, 62% of Americans said transgender athletes should be allowed to play only on sports teams that match their birth gender — which means opposition has risen 7 points in just two years.

But here’s what should concern the White House and Democrats who have openly supported biological males competing against women: 67% of independent voters believe transgender athletes should only be allowed to play on sports teams that match their birth gender, according to Gallup’s poll. And among Democratic voters, 47% support transgender athletes playing on sports teams that match their current identity while 48 percent oppose it, marking a 7-point rise from a year ago.

The GOP-led House passed a federal ban on transgender athletes who were born male from competing against female athletes. The Democratic Senate and President Biden have promised to kill the bill, a promise which could potentially alienate female voters who strongly support Title IX and a level playing field.

There’s a reason steroids are banned from amateur and professional sports: They give athletes a biological advantage over athletes who stay clean. The same goes for athletes born male competing against female athletes: They have a biological advantage as well.

Democrats and many in the media have hitched their wagons to supporting transgender athletes, and to portraying anyone who says otherwise as being heartless and transphobic.

7-  BudLight tries a trick to boost sales numbers, they are giving this beer away. Don’t fall for it. Hold the line.

Bud Light Makes Desperate Move to Save 4th of July Sales – But There’s a Huge Problem

QUOTE: You know the old saying, “It’s so bad they can’t give it away for free?” Well, Bud Light executives are apparently so desperate they are going to try.

Things seem to have gotten so bad for the company that it’s reportedly offering free beer through a $15 rebate promotion ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

According to Newsweek, customers who purchase a 15-pack of Budweiser, Budweiser Select 55, or Bud Light can claim a $15 rebate, making the beer either cheaper or completely free in some cases, depending on the location where it’s sold.

A beer company giving away beer around Independence Day is like a poultry farmer giving away turkeys at Thanksgiving.

Disney Is ‘Bleeding Out’ Big Time – Here’s How Much Money Company Has Lost in Last Year: Financial Analyst

QUOTE: According to Valliant Renegade, a YouTube account that focuses on the business of Hollywood, the Walt Disney Company’s finances are bleeding red ink.

In a video released Friday, with the apt title “Disney Is Bleeding Out At The Box Office | Here’s How Much They’ve LOST,” the account estimated Disney has incurred nearly $1 billion in losses during the release of eight movies from June 2022 to June of this year.

The movies, from Disney or Disney-owned Pixar and Marvel Studios, are “Lightyear,” “Thor: Love and Thunder,” “Strange World,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Elemental.”

According to Valliant Renegade, these movies cost $2.75 billion to produce and market but only brought in $1.86 billion, resulting in a loss of $890 million.

Additionally, the streaming service Disney+ experienced a loss of 2.4 million subscribers, with a decline in the Disney+ Hotstar service in India and Southeast Asia being a major factor, according to Fox.

It’s apparent that Disney is betting on its history of well-beloved movies for kids to continue enticing children and parents into movie theaters.

9- The first female Veep scores another first!   The American people have seen past glowing and supportive media to know that this woman is lacking.
That is good news.

Harris scores lowest net approval rating of any VP in history of NBC poll

QUOTE: Vice President Kamala Harris has largely trailed her running mate in public opinion polls, though a recent NBC News survey suggests she may be superlatively unpopularly with electorate compared to the vice presidents of recent memory.

Just 32% of respondents to the survey expressed a positive view of Harris compared to 49% who held a negative view. That -17 net approval rating marks the lowest for any VP in the history of the poll.

Under former President Barack Obama in 2010, then-Vice President Joe Biden scored a +1 rating with a 34%-33% approval/disapproval rating. Mike Pence, in 2019, earned a -4 (34%-38%), while Dick Cheney in 2003 enjoyed a +23 (47-24). Bill Clinton’s vice president, Al Gore, also scored well in 1995 with a +15 (42-27).

11- If you are searching for a book to escape into over the summer, some members of our staff have been loving the novels by Jack Carr.

The Terminal List is a six book series that may have you up until the wee hours, shocked by the jaw dropping twists.  With topics taken from current events, it sometimes does not seem like fiction.  Start at the beginning. You will not believe what happens in Book Six!

Note: This is not for everyone. It is fast-paced, intriguing, surprising, current, and political but it also VERY graphic in descriptions of violence. If this upsets you, these books are NOT for you.

You may have already seen the Amazon Prime series based on Book One, The Terminal List.

Here is a link to Amazon.

Here is a link to Audible. The books are wonderfully narrated. Great for a long road trip.
