Dear Patriots,

It was an interesting weekend on the Republican Primary front. With events hosted by the Family Leadership Summit in Iowa and Turning Point Action Conference in Florida, and attended, at one or the other, by all of the candidates, there was plenty of material to read and think about.

We offer this observation. We have been, since 2016, in the midst of what will be looked back on as a political earthquake. Politics is anything but usual.
Anyone who suggests they can predict what will happen in the next month, much less the next year, is blowing smoke.
There will be hundreds of occurrences between today and November 5, 2024 that will alter the political landscape. It is important that people with calm logic sort it all out and pass that on to others.

Defending The Republic, will strive to be here, offering you information and insight on all of the many ramification of the issues and the election.

Iowa Governor Signs Six-Week Abortion Ban

QUOTE: Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed a six-week abortion ban for her state into law Friday afternoon.

“This week, in a rare and historic special session, the Iowa legislature voted for a second time to reject the inhumanity of abortion and pass the fetal heartbeat law,” Reynolds, a Republican, said ahead of signing the bill at the Family Leadership Summit to a round of applause. All life is precious and worthy of the protection of our laws.”

The legislation bans abortion past when fetal cardiac activity can be detected, usually around six weeks of pregnancy, with exceptions for when the life of the mother is in danger, fetal abnormalities that would result in the baby’s death, rapes reported within 45 days, and incest reported within 140 days.

The bill passed Iowa’s Republican-controlled legislature earlier this week and goes into effect immediately.

“The voices of Iowans and their democratically elected representatives cannot be ignored any longer, and justice for the unborn should not be delayed,” Reynolds said in a statement at the time.

Abortion providers have already filed a legal challenge against the ban.

2- A small band of dogged people are challenging, one by one, voter registrations in Georgia.  So far they have won the challenge, 11,100 times. That is more than enough votes to swing any election.

Over 10% of Georgia Voter Challenges Are Successful.

QUOTE: Of 100,000 voter registration challenges in Georgia since 2020, some 11,100 were upheld, according to a ProPublica analysis of 30 of the Peach State’s 159 counties. Regular citizens were empowered to challenge people on the voter rolls if, for example, they appeared to be improperly registered to P.O. boxes or business addresses following the 2020 election, in response to “many electors [being] concerned about allegations of rampant voter fraud”.

Around 90 percent of the challenges were lodged by just six dedicated election integrity activists, with a further 12 people accounting for most of the remainder. While ProPublica framed this negatively, one of the activists insisted he was “free labor trying to help the system to make sure everyone can vote.”

“I’m not trying to suppress anyone. I just want clean voter rolls for a multitude of reasons,” he explained – citing, for example, the risk of mail-in absentee ballots being used by the wrong people.

Georgia’s state leaders are not generally concerned with mitigating possible electoral abuses, however, with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger refusing to do anything about the “critical vulnerabilities” scientists have found in its Dominion voting machines.

In the mean time, activists are experiencing around a 12 percent success rate in challenging voter registration inconsistencies — hardly the “statistically zero” number of problems claimed by corporate media outlets when discussing election integrity.

What do the Moms for Liberty tell us about the women’s vote?

QUOTE: Merianne Jensen says she has always considered herself “adjacent” to politics: She voted consistently, but never got involved or volunteered for a campaign.

“Three years ago, I did not even know who our governor was, and in a lot of ways, I didn’t care — I had never been political. Yes, I voted every year, but then I went about my life. Politics never defined me,” she said.

That all changed on March 12, 2020, when her children’s school closed down. The entire country was supposed to shut down only for two weeks, she recalls, to flatten the curve and stop the spread of COVID. “As soon as that happened, I knew that something was not right. I knew that they were not going to be going back, and that’s when I started becoming involved in politics,” she explained.

The Prince William County, Va., mom’s frustration with school closures became frustration with masking requirements with no apparent expiration date. When Ms. Jensen spoke at her school board meeting early last year, her turn at the mic went viral.

Today Ms. Jensen is one of hundreds of thousands of women who have gone from politically ambivalent to deeply engaged. She has organized a local chapter of the Moms for Liberty group, with the intent to get parents actively participating in their children’s schools, encouraging them to attend school board meetings and even to run for the board.

If you think women like Ms. Jensen don’t make a difference in elections, then you didn’t pay attention to the 2021 gubernatorial election in Virginia, when Glenn Youngkin won white women voters — many of whom had been alienated from the GOP during the Trump presidency — by a whopping 14%. Virginia women had split evenly between Mr. Trump and Joe Biden just one year earlier. Mr. Youngkin said during the campaign that he understood the impact pandemic mandates were having on children’s education. More importantly, he articulated the concern that government overreach and a lack of transparency in school districts was a problem Democrats stubbornly refused to face.

Where women voters go can never be taken for granted, said Jeff Brauer, a political science professor at Keystone College. In part due to an emphasis on pragmatism, they are the swingiest of the swing voters.

Few people had “parents’ rights” as the key issue in 2021 in Virginia until just weeks before Election Day; same goes for abortion in 2022. It didn’t matter … until it did. Both issues were either dismissed or demonized in the closing days of both cycles, very similar to the way those who supported the Tea Party were treated in 2010.

Women — especially independent women — have the power to flip an entire state in any given election cycle. And they are likely to be the difference in purple states like Pennsylvania.

But, the global cabal of elites are still unwilling to let studies and facts see the light of day.

Significant COVID-19 Vaccine Study Censored by Medical Journal Within 24 Hours

QUOTE: A systematic review of 325 autopsies showing COVID-19 vaccination caused or significantly contributed to 74 percent of deaths was removed from The Lancet’s preprint SSRN server within 24 hours, adding to an increasing number of censored studies on the potential harms of COVID-19 vaccines. The study, published July 5, examined all autopsies published in peer-reviewed literature to determine whether COVID-19 vaccination caused or contributed to the person’s death.

Researchers searched all published autopsy and necropsy reports related to COVID-19 vaccination through May 18, 2023, resulting in 678 studies. After implementing inclusion criteria, they chose 44 papers containing 325 autopsy cases and one necropsy case. A panel of three expert physicians independently reviewed each case to determine whether COVID-19 vaccination was a direct cause or significant factor in each death.

Of 325 autopsies reviewed, 240 deaths, or 74 percent, were independently adjudicated as “directly due to or significantly contributed to by COVID-19 vaccination.”
Findings showed the most affected organ system in COVID-19 vaccine-associated death was the cardiovascular system at 53 percent, followed by the hematological system at 17 percent, the respiratory system at 8 percent, and multiple organ systems at 7 percent. Three or more organ systems were affected in 21 cases. The mean time from vaccination to death was 14.3 days—with most deaths occurring within a week of the last vaccine dose.

The study results suggest a high likelihood of a causal link between COVID-19 vaccines and deaths in most cases. Yet, the government’s narrative is still that people do not die after COVID-19 vaccination, lead author Dr. Peter McCullough, a practicing internist, cardiologist, and epidemiologist, said in an interview on EpochTV’s “American Thought Leaders: Now.” “The striking cases were people who were perfectly healthy and had no other medical problems. The only new thing in their life was the vaccine, and they died with an obvious syndrome like a blood clot or heart damage—myocarditis.”

Within 24 hours, the study was removed and replaced with the following notice:
“This preprint has been removed by Preprints with the Lancet because the study’s conclusions are not supported by the study methodology.”

According to Dr. McCullough, the authors were not given an explanation for how their conclusions failed to meet the study methodology. Dr. McCullough said that before removal, the study was experiencing “hundreds of reviews per minute” and is now on the Zenodo preprint server and currently under review at another high-level journal.

“When it comes to the vaccines, papers get special attention. I think because there are individuals who don’t want to have a fair presentation of data when it comes to safety,” said Dr. McCullough. “This was simply what happened when someone died after a vaccine and the family, or the doctor, or the medical examiner requested an autopsy.”

‘Sound of Freedom’ Pulls Off Another Miracle During Epic Run at the Box Office

QUOTE: The film “Sound of Freedom” continues to be a box office success in its second weekend. The film grossed $6 million on Friday, according to Deadline.
The film, now shown at 3,265 theaters across the country, is expected to have a weekend of between $20 million and $22.5 million, Deadline predicted.

On top of a strong first weekend, the film could end the weekend with a gross of $81 million, the site wrote, noting that the film is likely to break $100 million in gross receipts.

Actor Jim Caveziel said he wants movie-goers to leave the film with “a new heart,” according to the Catholic News Agency.
“A heart that’s not afraid,” he added.” I was praying the other day and I said, ‘Can we love God’s children more than we fear evil? Can we love Jesus more than we fear the cross?’ And this is the problem right now with modern-day Christians is that we want the easy route. And right now you see the world changing. You’re going to have to make a decision at some point,” he said.

“There’s good, there’s evil. But a big part of that evil is those that are sitting on the fence. And we have to make a choice. And some are more leaning towards Jesus, more towards good, some are more leaning towards the evil, but they’re on that fence and that fence belongs to the evil one. And so we have to make that decision,” he said.
