The good, the sane and the right side of the political spectrum won some victories last week.
1- While we did not gain all that we thought we might in the last election, we did manage a few significant wins. One win shifted the North Carolina Supreme Court from Democrat control to Republican control. This past week, that election reaped benefits.
Almost five years ago the citizens of NC voted overwhelmingly for Voter ID. The Democrats have been fighting, suing, protesting and screaming about it ever since. Hopefully, this decision will mark an end to their efforts to deny voters their decision.
Purple State Supreme Court Makes Major Ruling On Election Integrity Law, Reversing Previous Decision
QUOTE: The North Carolina Supreme Court made several key election decisions on Friday, ruling to reinstate a voter ID law and keep the Republican-led redistricting maps in place.
The rulings were made possible after the court was swung in November from 4-3 Democrat-controlled to 5-2 Republican. The voter ID law, enacted in 2018, had previously been thrown out over claims it unfairly targeted minorities.
“The people of North Carolina overwhelmingly support voter identification and other efforts to promote greater integrity and confidence in our elections. Subjective tests and judicial sleight of hand have systematically thwarted the will of the people and the intent of the legislature,” wrote the court’s Republican majority on the voter ID case.
“But no court exists for the vindication of political interests, and judges exceed constitutional boundaries when they act as a super-legislature,” the decision continued. “Plaintiffs here have failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that S.B. 824 was enacted with discriminatory intent or that the law actually produces a meaningful disparate impact along racial lines.”
The decision on the redistricting maps said that the state’s constitution did not stipulate whether the state legislature could or could not make partisan maps.
“Our constitution expressly assigns the redistricting authority to the General Assembly subject to explicit limitations in the text. Those limitations do not address partisan gerrymandering,” the Republicans wrote.
The redistricting decision could give Republicans an edge in the 2024 congressional elections in the Tar Heel State as the Republican supermajority can now draw the maps for the state.
Both decisions were widely praised by Republicans and decried by Democrats who have long opposed voter ID measures.

Florida Scores Huge Win for Free and Fair Elections Over Marc Elias and an Obama Judge
QUOTE: On Thursday, a panel of the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals handed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis a huge victory over Marc Elias, judicial overreach, and industrial strength stupidity. By a 2-1 decision, with an Obama judge dissenting, the panel upheld nearly all of Florida’s overhaul of voting rules in May 2021. I would call it controversial, but it was only controversial to people whose lives depend upon supporting vote fraud.
In May 2021, the Florida legislature passed a major overhaul of state election law. The law’s goals were to make elections more transparent and trustworthy while outlawing known abuses of the system, particularly those abuses that came into being based on the whim of unelected officials and judges to allegedly allow the system to cope with an election during a pandemic.
3- Sometimes it is the oddest thing that turns into a revolution.
The American Revolution and the Bud Light rebellion
QUOTE: Just as rum sparked the American Revolution, perhaps Bud Light will spark a rebellion against woke tyranny.
Unlike many conservative rebellions, the Bud Light rebellion really seems to have legs (which is maybe a funny thing to say about a drink that, if you have too much, effectively renders your legs useless). The “transing” of Bud Light deeply offended ordinary Americans, the ones who usually aren’t that “into” politics. I now wonder if this might finally spell the twilight of woke; hence my calling it the Bud Light rebellion, rather than a boycott or protest.
The colonists put up with a lot of things from Britain that bugged them, but it was when parliament cracked down on rum that the colonists began to take very seriously the fact that they had no voice in a government that was economically punitive.
By the 18th century, American colonists were not only importing rum; they were distilling their own. As of 1770, according to Wayne Curtis, there were over 150 rum distilleries in New England, and the colonists, collectively, were importing 6.5 million gallons of West Indian molasses, and turning it into five million gallons of rum. One estimate from the time of the Revolutionary War puts American rum consumption at nearly four gallons per person per year.
The problem as rum production moved to the colonies was that the thirsty colonists ceased to buy it from the Caribbean. Britain, which was punitively protective against its own colonies, cracked down.
There were, of course, other problems with Parliament, but rum was one of the main contenders when it came to the “Intolerable Acts” that drove the colonists to open revolution.
Now, I’m not suggesting that anyone in America should take up arms because Bud Light decided to use as a product representative a mentally-ill man who created a female persona that is obviously intended to appeal to pedophiles. And if you don’t believe me about that pedophile point, just check out this TikTok from Mr. Mulvaney.
However, while I’m neither predicting nor advocating a full-blown revolution, I am saying that there’s no doubt that Americans are enraged that Anheuser-Busch used a totally generic, all-American product to advance an agenda that most Americans, if pinned down, will concede is abnormal, dangerous to children, and destructive to society. Americans need to take this rage and stand up against wokeness, DEI, CRT, and everything else. The Anheuser-Busch debacle has shown that we are the majority, yet we act as if we’re the minority. That needs to stop.
4- Speaking of Budweiser, beware of these tactics. Let them spend billions in marketing and lobbying only to never regain their market advantage. Hold Fast! The left never takes a breath, nor should we.
Group Warns Anheuser-Busch Is Going on the Offensive and Targeting Republicans
QUOTE: Anheuser-Busch appears to be preparing for a public relations war — and it could be looking to buttress its army with influential Republicans.
According to Fox Business and the New York Post, the beleaguered Belgian-owned beer manufacturer is trying to fix its Dylan Mulvaney problem by throwing lots of advertising dollars and a robust PR campaign at it.
Running afoul of the core beliefs of its target demographic appears to have been an awful business decision for the company — ultimately leading to executives being put on leaveand massive losses in sales and market value.
Now, Anheuser-Busch is reportedly preparing to launch a furious counteroffensive to rehabilitate its image, with Republicans playing a key role in that effort.
According to Fox, Anheuser-Busch has assembled a lobbying team made up of former Republican staffers whose job is to “woo lawmakers” and help stamp out Bud Light backlash in Washington, D.C.
Documents show that Anheuser-Busch secured the lobbying firm Origin Advocacy, which was founded by “veteran GOP aide” Sean McClean.
McClean has connections to Sens. Ted Cruz and Marsha Blackburn. Emily Lynch, the other lobbyist handling the case, has worked for members of Congress and on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
But lobbying and hobnobbing aren’t nearly enough for the conservative group American Accountability Foundation, which slammed Bud Light’s attempts to engender goodwill on Capitol Hill.
In a letter obtained by Fox, AAF president Tom Jones blasted McLean and Lynch for “making the rounds on the Hill trying to red-wash Bud Light’s disastrous decision to partner with a man pretending to be a woman and tell you the company really does respect conservative values.”
In a follow-up statement to Fox, AAF said, “If Bud Light wants to regain the trust of conservative customers, they should apologize for insulting their values by embracing the woke left’s radical gender agenda instead of wasting their money on lobbyists. Bud Light sided with the Left against the average American and no amount of D.C. lobbyists in fancy suits will make them forget that.”
But it sounds like no apology from Bud Light is forthcoming.
According to the Post, Bud Light has promised U.S. beer distributors that it will “spend heavily” on a marketing campaign that will try to wash the taste of Mulvaney-gate out of consumers’ mouths.
5- May you live in interesting times, the old curse goes. Our time now, is nothing if not interesting. Where all the Tucker Carlson speculation goes is fascinating to witness.

QUOTE: With their decision to take Tucker Carlson’s show off the air, Fox News’s Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch have failed to account for media and political dynamics that have, over a period of years, shifted under their feet. The Murdochs’ decision will inevitably prove catastrophic for Fox News and will likely be an inflection point that marks a wholesale change to a media landscape that, to paraphrase Matt Taibbi, has calcified in progressive concrete.
Rupert Murdoch launched Fox News in 1996. The late Charles Krauthammer, often a guest on Fox News, once quipped that Murdoch saw a “niche” market opportunity in the U.S. for conservative news, with the niche amounting to “half the country.” Over the past 27 years, Fox News lucratively occupied that niche as the only viable broadcast media source for center-right news and opinion. It grew to be the dominant news source in the cable market.
The world has changed dramatically since 1996, though, and no more so than in the last seven years. Trump’s election in 2016 tore off the last vestiges of moderate camouflage shielding the progressive cancer that infects America.
Today’s progressives are intent on manipulating our systems to take power, whatever the cost. These progressives used Covid-19 to war on religion, aberrant sexualization of children to war on families, post-modernism to war on objective truth, and politicized education to teach children corrupted history that identifies America as an evil nation.
Fox’s decision to silence Tucker Carlson, though, is fundamentally different. Tucker did not commit malfeasance. There was no contract dispute. Tucker was averaging over 3 million viewers per night for Fox, and he was the single most popular primetime show on cable news.
The only reasonable explanation for Fox News’s decision is ideological. Tucker is the most popular conservative voice in the U.S. and a cash cow for Fox. Nevertheless, the Murdochs felt they could silence Carlson on a whim, expecting Fox News viewers to just accept their decision.
The Murdochs are living in a bubble. Unlike the situation in 2016, conservatives realize that, today, the progressive threat to our Republic is both imminent and existential. To remove the most popular voice for conservatives at just this moment and without any reasonable business motive is something that I cannot see any conservative ever forgiving. This is Fox’s Bud Light moment on steroids.
Carlson’s video, released on Twitter a few days ago, has had tens of million views. That is reaching an audience that dwarfs anything on Fox News many times over. It dwarfs any news show, including on broadcast television:
This shows that Carlson has viable options for broadcasting himself. And more, it means that Carlson might well be able to establish a consolidation of conservative media that has a much greater reach over Twitter than anything that appears on cable, broadcast media, or the internet today. In any event, the Murdochs, like the French of 1940, are about to learn a hard lesson about knowing history in context.
