Dear Patriots,

We are hopeful that the revelations of the new Republican House investigating committees will act as a stop, or at least a slowing down, of the decline of America as a Constitutional Republic.

There is nothing good or successful about Communism, socialism, totalitarianism. The examples of these failed types of governance are legion. And yet, they are still enticing concepts to Democrat who push us toward them with ungodly fervor.

Dictatorial government unleashed on citizens must be rooted out and ended.  These committees could prove to be the catalyst of change.

James Comer SCHOOLS Chuck Todd on Importance of Hunter Investigation

QUOTE: On Sunday’s Meet the Press, moderator, and Democrat activist Chuck Todd whined to House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer that the necessary oversight that Comer and his committee will be conducting will look “more partisan than professional.” Comer proceeded to take Todd to school about how that is far from the case.

“You’re going to do a lot of oversight, a lot of subpoenas, many people look at what you’re doing, and they see that it looks more partisan than professional,” Todd asked Comer. “Tell me how you’re going to try to departisanize an investigation, or do you expect it to be partisan?” Todd continued.

This gave Comer an opening to take it to Todd and explain why the Biden administration needs to be investigated (click “expand”):

Well with all due respect, Chuck I disagree with that. I think the only people who see this as partisan investigation are the media and the hard-core Democrats. Look at the same moment that the Democrats on the Ways & Means committee released Donald Trump’s taxes, they then moments later turned around and said Comer’s investigation of the Biden family influence peddling is a revengering [sic] are you kidding me? Look, a Harvard poll just came out and said 65 percent of the Americans believe that the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop should be investigated. But let me be clear, we’re not investigating Hunter Biden, we’re investigating Joe Biden.

“I think any American who’s kept up with the political process over the past two administrations would agree, we need to know what is allowable and what isn’t allowable with respect to foreign adversarial intervention among family members of Presidents of the United States,” Comer added.

China’s COVID-19 About-Face Exposes the Dysfunction of Its Regime

QUOTE: Far from highlighting the effectiveness of the CCP, the COVID-19 fiasco serves as the latest reminder of how ineffective and irresponsible the regime is.

The main flaw of China’s zero-COVID policy is that those charged with implementing it had little choice but to treat people as mere statistics.

Everything about Beijing’s response to the pandemic flies in the face of its narrative of effective governance and shows what an irresponsible regime it is.

Since 2020, China has maintained the strictest pandemic controls on the planet. It justified its draconian lockdowns on the grounds that they were necessary to preserve lives and proudly pointed to its ability to keep infections and fatalities low as evidence of the superiority of its political system.

Three years later, Beijing abruptly scrapped its failing zero-COVID policy, leaving an under-equipped healthcare system and a disoriented public to grapple with a rising infection wave that experts warn could result in well over a million deaths. Rather than saving its people from the worst of the pandemic, the Communist Party merely delayed their agony, leaving residents questioning whether their sacrifices over the past three years were worth anything. Far from highlighting the effectiveness of the CCP, the COVID-19 fiasco serves as the latest reminder of how ineffective and irresponsible the regime is.

The most telling aspect of the CCP’s about-face is how little is known about how the decision was made. There was no public debate about its merits and drawbacks or any official acknowledgment that it was being considered. Many outside observers assume it was a last-minute decision spurred by the protests that broke out across China in late November. However, revelations that Beijing lost control of the outbreak well before the protests started and had solicited advice on easing restrictions from Hong Kong experts earlier that month suggest there is likely more to the story. One possible explanation is that infections were already spreading so fast that continued adherence to the policy would have exposed it as a failure.

3- We mentioned the DeSantis speech last week. We highlight it again as it is a reminder of how far humans will go to escape the dictates of tyrannical one-party government.

The American Mind

DeSantis Goes to War

Quote: On election night, I was half-watching Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s victory remarks when something quite extraordinary and encouraging caught my attention. DeSantis evoked Churchill’s “fighting on the beaches” speech, in which Churchill stirred the resolve and patriotism of the British people in anticipation of the invasion of their homeland by the Nazis. DeSantis, of course, was not warning against Nazism: he was warning against wokeism, which he was implicitly equating with Nazism. I had never heard a national political figure treat wokeism with such (deserved) gravity.

Before rephrasing Churchill, DeSantis said:

States and cities governed by leftist politicians have seen crime skyrocket. They’ve seen their taxpayers abused, they’ve seen medical authoritarianism imposed, and they’ve seen American principles discarded. The woke agenda has caused millions of Americans to leave these jurisdictions for greener pastures.

People do not uproot themselves and leave the rhythms of home “for light and transient causes.” These people are not coming to Florida just for the weather. They are fleeing the woke regime of blue America—an abusive, lawless, totalitarian regime which is waging war against American principles and the American way of life.

DeSantis continued:

Now, this great exodus of Americans, for those folks, Florida, for so many of them, has served as the promised land. We have embraced freedom. We have maintained law and order. We have protected the rights of parents. We have respected our taxpayers, and we reject woke ideology. We fight the woke in the legislature. We fight the woke in the schools. We fight the woke in the corporations. We will never, ever surrender to the woke mob. Florida is where woke goes to die.

In evoking Churchill’s speech, DeSantis lets us know that the woke regime is bearing down on America. In the urgent cadences of war, DeSantis tells us that America will not survive unless she defeats the woke regime. He believes this regime is so evil and powerful that he can, without bathos, compare it to the Nazi regime.

4- These protests have been totally ignored by the entire world. Millions of Cubans have been protesting Communism, right under out nose.

Report: Cubans Held Nearly 4,000 Anti-Communist Protests in 2022

QUOTE: Cuban citizens held 692 recorded protests against the communist Castro regime during December 2022 – bringing the total for the year to 3,923 protests, according to the latest report published by the Cuban Observatory of Conflict civil society organization on Monday.

The number of protests in December was higher than the 584 that the Observatory registered during the historic July 2021 wave of protests against the Castro regime and its puppet-president Miguel Díaz-Canel, making December 2022 the month with the highest number of anti-communist protests in Cuba in recent years.

The Observatory’s report details that, of the 692 protests that took place nationwide during December, 366 were spontaneous, while 326 were part of organized campaigns against the Castro regime. Only 170 of them were documented in Havana.

The report also stated that Cubans continued to explicitly protest the regime’s brutal repression even after the communist regime received help from Russia and Turkey to keep Cuba’s power grid from total collapse – one of the main protest drivers in much of the year. Among the factors fueling protests was the communist regime’s new penal code that went into effect in December, which heavily criminalizes “‘subversive” or “harmful to society” activities. The code also increases the number of crimes punishable by death sentence, adding stealing a boat or airplane to flee from Cuba.

In addition to protests demanding political and civil rights, Cubans also protested for economic and social rights – and objected to the precarious state of Cuba’s public utilities, food shortages, inflation, housing, health, and transportation.
