New CDC COVID-19 Guidance Is Agency ‘Admitting It Was Wrong’: Epidemiologist
QUOTE: The new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 guidance is the agency acknowledging it was wrong in the past to downplay natural immunity and promote unprecedented policies like asymptomatic testing, a California epidemiologist says.
The new guidance, released on Aug. 11, rescinds and alters a number of key recommendations, including treating unvaccinated and vaccinated people differently for many purposes, explicitly stating that people with previous infection have protection against severe illness, and removing six-foot social distancing advice.
“The CDC is admitting it was wrong here, although they won’t put it in those words,” Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, professor of medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, told The Epoch Times.
“What they’ll say is that, well, ‘the population is more immunized now, has more natural immunity now, and now is the time—the science has changed.'”
But a large percentage of the U.S. population has had natural immunity, or protection from prior infection, Bhattacharya noted, while over 80 percent of the elderly population had protection from severe disease from COVID-19 vaccines, previous infection, or both, since 2021.
“This is two years too late, but it’s a good step,” Bhattacharya added.
Bhattacharya, who co-authored the Great Barrington Declaration in 2020, a document that called for focused protection on the elderly and fewer restrictions on others, said that the guidance is closely aligned with the principles outlined in the declaration.
Based on the new guidance, the CDC should immediately rescind the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for foreign travelers entering The United States, a policy imposed in November 2021, the professor added.

Liz Cheney’s Net Worth Has Grown 600% During Time in Congress
QUOTE: Republican Congresswoman from Wyoming and January 6 Select Committee Vice Chair Liz Cheney has become exponentially richer while serving in Congress compared to when she started in 2017.
According to Breitbart, Cheney’s net worth has exploded by 600 percent while serving in office, as she started with an estimated worth of $7 million and her current net worth estimation has her clocking in upwards of $44 million.
Using comparative data from the Center for Responsive Politics and Personal Financial Disclosure documents, Breitbart tracked her increase in worth year-by-year.
Between 2017 and 2018 Cheney’s net worth doubled from roughly $7 million to $14 million, and by 2020 she declared her net worth as high as $44 million citing revenue streams from her family trust, a University of Wyoming trustee job, and money from a “holding company.”

Trump Lawyer Says Former President Unfazed by FBI Raid
QUOTE: A lawyer for former President Donald Trump said the ex-commander-in-chief is not fazed by the recent FBI raid on his Florida home.
“He is a very resilient man who should run for president again … he’s got his faculties; he’s brilliant and he’s energized,” Trump lawyer Alina Habba told Newsmax on Saturday. “Every day I come in with some new bad news … unfortunately, he’s desensitized and fortunately, because he lives his life every day under this amount of pressure and under this amount of criticism and fake news, frankly,” she added.
Echoing statements made by Trump and his other lawyers, Habba said that the documents were declassified.
“They were being given to [the National Archives and Records Administration], given to the [Department of Justice], given to the FBI in coordination with the president, with his attorneys that are handling this issue,” Habba said.
Trump’s lawyer added that the FBI search is a “pretext” ahead of the 2022 midterms, and “the president is leading in the polls.”
The former president announced on Aug. 8 that the FBI had undertaken a surprise search of Mar-a-Lago. He previously said his team was complying with the federal government’s requests.
“[T]hey didn’t need to ‘seize’ anything,” Trump said in a Truth Social post on Aug. 12. “They could have had it anytime they wanted without playing politics and breaking into Mar-a-Lago. It was in secured storage, with an additional lock put on as per their request … they could have had it anytime they wanted—and that includes LONG ago. ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS ASK.”

Trump Calls FBI Raid ‘Another Form of Election Cheating’
QUOTE: Former President Donald Trump said the FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida was politically motivated, and that the Democrats had been known for using the Department of Justice to sling mud at Republicans.
“The RAID was Politics, the Midterm Elections, and 2024. It’s another form of Election CHEATING—That’s all the Radical Left Democrats know what to do. They use the FBI & DOJ to try and dirty up their opponents, but the people of our Country are wise to them like never before. Be careful what you wish for!” Trump wrote in a statement on his Truth Social platform on Aug. 13.
The FBI raid has significantly boosted voter enthusiasm. According to a survey released by the Convention of States Action and The Trafalgar Group, 83.3 percent of Republicans, 71.7 percent of Independents, and 55.2 percent of Democrats said the raid increased their motivation to vote in November. Among Independent voters, the survey found that 53.9 percent said they believe “Trump’s political enemies” were behind the raid, with 35.3 percent believing it was the “impartial justice system,” and 10.8 percent saying they were not sure.
